Air Fryer Chicken Breast: Complete Time & Temperature Guide
Cooking chicken breast can be notoriously tricky. One minute too long in the oven, and it turns dry and rubbery. But thanks to the intense, circulating heat of the air fryer, you can achieve chicken breasts that are beautifully seared on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside—in a fraction of the time.
The Perfect Time & Temperature
For a standard, fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breast (about 6 to 8 ounces), the ideal setting is:
- Temperature: 375°F (190°C)
- Time: 12 to 15 minutes
Cooking at 375°F ensures that the outside gets a nice golden-brown crust without drying out the interior. Remember to flip the chicken halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Safety First: The 165°F Rule
Always use a reliable digital meat thermometer. The thickest part of the chicken breast must reach a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Air Fryer Settings
Check food a few minutes before the timer ends. Results are estimates — always use a food thermometer for meats.
